Hi, I would like to call a vote on new releases of the Apache Felix Dependency Manager bundles:
- org.apache.felix.dependencymanager 5.0.0 - org.apache.felix.dependencymanager.annotation 6.0.0 - org.apache.felix.dependencymanager.runtime 5.0.0 - org.apache.felix.dependencymanager.shell 5.0.0 - org.apache.felix.dependencymanager.lambda 2.0.0 together with the parent pom dependencymanager-parent 1.0.0. These are the first releases since r16 (dependencymanager 4.6.1, annotation 5.0.2, runtime 4.0.8, shell 4.0.9, lambda 1.2.2). What changed (FELIX-6872): * The Dependency Manager is now built with Maven instead of Gradle and bnd, like the other Felix sub-projects, and is released the same way. Each bundle now has its own version and tag (<artifactId>-<version>) instead of one combined "rNN" release. * The bundles work on current JDKs. They build and pass their tests on Java 17,21 and 25, and the deprecated use of AccessController in the service tracker and in the runtime has been removed (it is gone from Java 24 on). * The minimum Java version is now 11 (it was 8). That is why every bundle gets a new major version. * The exported APIs are unchanged: every exported package has the same version as in r16, verified by the baseline check against the previous release. The bundles are still compiled against OSGi R6, so their imports have not changed. * Some racy integration tests were fixed (they failed on slow machines when Config Admin delivered a configuration late or twice). This only touches test code. * The Gradle build, the bnd workspace, the Eclipse project files and the Gradle based release project are removed. The README describes the Maven build. * The integration tests run on Felix Framework 8.0.0, Config Admin 1.10.0 and Gogo runtime 1.2.0, shell 1.1.4 and command 1.1.2.
