Hey James and everyone,

Thanks for bringing this up. I’ve been part of Fineract for a few
years, started out building simple UIs and ended up untangling Docker
issues. I definitely want our Admin UI to feel like a welcome mat,
not an obstacle.

What if we built a lightweight template engine driven by prompts or a
small JSON file? You’d type something like “show loan balances by
branch,” hit Generate, and instantly get a dashboard wired to our
OpenAPI spec. We’d host it under apache/fineract with an Apache 2.0
license, stay vendor-neutral, and let non-React experts spin up useful
interfaces overnight.

We could also lean on Appsmith (Apache-licensed) for drag-and-drop
dashboards and API connectors, so we own the UI without reinventing
the wheel.

But also, if people just want to build it, I’m excited to collaborate
on coding this up, but full disclosure I would be vibe coding it in
cursor. I think it's probably the case that many members will be vibe
coding their own respective UI's as well, and this trend will only
continue to grow with time. Perhaps this is an opportunity to get
ahead of that, and make an easier on ramp for community newcomers.

Financial Inclusion = Developer Inclusion!

Cheers,
Dick
