There's been quite a bit of healthy discussion and it seems to be winding down. Please review and help me perfect the proposal now. I'd like to kick off an official vote for FSIP-9 <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/FSIP-9%3A+Standardize+on+PostgreSQL> on Sunday.

I think I captured the salient points and I welcome feedback: Edit the proposal directly (if you are willing and able), add comments, click "Like" on it, discuss further here and in chat (if you have anything new to add), all that. Add or edit your entry under "Who is involved" (I just made up those roles, so add whatever you want).

I think small clean up / clarification edits to the proposal are OK even after voting, but the key points should stay the same once voting starts.

The key points of FSIP-9 are:

1. only support Postgres
2. remove support for MySQL and MariaDB
3. best effort migration support only
