Mifos X already supports the ability to set up pre-defined general ledger
journal entries via the accounting rules and frequent postings -

This feature has been requested by Musoni and Digital Oasis.
My assumption is that we would extend off the existing frequent posting
functionality, allowing the user define the frequency or recurrence of the
journal entry and then a corresponding cron job to execute the entires
according to the recurring schedule.

Hi Ed Cable, looks like the link you referred to is no longer there. But I
agree that the frequent postings are a decent jumping board. In this case we
would mainly need around that:
The actual amount needs to be added and stored
Recurrence type implementation to trigger posting on a predefined date, as well
as edit etc functionality for adjusting those.
It would be good to pick up the old spec and make the modifications in there,
and highlight it, as I completely agree that the 2 are closely linked.
