I think you are on the wrong thread, but yes, it should be safe to add
<projector> tags without breaking the installer.  I suppose if some day we
want to access the <projector> tags from Ant it would be easier if the
tags were named differently like <projectorWin> and <projectorMac> but I
don't see that as likely.
