I don't know if its okay for you to start with a project outside our main codebase, but we really need a QA-bot for validating pull requests: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-1166 I can give you a small virtual machine at Microsoft Azure to run the bot on.
Another field that probably contains a lot of interesting tasks is our new Streaming component. There are not so many issues related to the streaming component in JIRA, but I think there is still a lot of work to do there. (For example: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-1081) On Sat, Oct 18, 2014 at 11:23 AM, Robert Metzger <rmetz...@apache.org> wrote: > Hi Ajay, > > new contributors are always very welcome in our community. > There is a "How to contribute guide" on our website: > http://flink.incubator.apache.org/how-to-contribute.html > It contains some general advice on how to start. > > If you want, we can discuss together which issue you want to work on in > the beginning. > Flink has quite a large codebase, so it might be tough in the beginning to > understand it.
