The file n-cyg-resolver.log is the case which you described in email that the entity resolver doesn't work to get the local copies of DTDs, so Ant goes to the network to retrieve the DTDs. The reason that it fails at linking.xml is that it has a broken System Identifier, i.e. apache.org/forrest/dtd/... rather than forrest.apache.org/dtd/... Anyway, that doesn't matter. We need the resolver to work for the local DTDs. One thing that i do not understand is why it says: validate-xdocs: dropping C:\src\forrest\lib\endorsed\*.jar from path as it doesn't exist ... It should definitely exist - that is in your $FORREST_HOME. Anyway leaving that aside ... Would you now please do 'forrest -debug validate-xdocs' ... and attach the log.
