Hi Jürgen,

Hi Stephan,
See <http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=91721>---a regression indeed. Sorry for not looking into this earlier (but I am currently buried in other work), and thanks for being so persistent.
thank you *very* much, indeed!

Maybe (on a different thread) we should discuss the scripting framework for OOo. As it the OOo scripting framework is Java based, it would be feasible to add a wealth of new scripting languages to OOo, using JSR-223 (javax.script on Java 6, available for earlier versions of Java in the form of Apache BSF 3.0, in beta at the moment).
well, it works but there are still some issues in it is somewhat unmaintained. If you are interested to do more in this area please let us discuss it. I am interested and would love to see many other scripting languages to be able to use the OO API directly.
O.K. that sounds fine!

Maybe Jim White (who has been posting on scripting) and others may be interested in this as well?

Personally, I hope to get some more time unleashed in August. We could discuss the present state, the current maintenance needs and the possible/planned future (JSR-223/BSF-3.0 would indeed bring a lot of scripting languages to OOo; however, one would need to gain the support from the various scripting language supporters to create the necessary, specific OOo support to ease programming of OOo, especially with dynamic scripting languages; especially for dynamic scripting languages one shold be careful how far supporting helpers should go in order to not hide the overall OOo architecture, which could lead to end-user programmers getting lost).

Regards,

---rony

P.S.: Maybe one possibility to talk and discuss this f2f could be an OOoCon.
