You would probably be better served by having someone else volunteer to be PMC chair. My reasoning for that is exactly for the same reason you put yourself there. You are the most active committer and obviously aren’t going anywhere. Having someone else be chair insures that someone else is staying fairly involved in the activities of the project, even if they aren’t the most active committer. You need at least 3 active PMC members so use any opportunity you can to make sure you stay above that mark.
