Hello everybody,
FSVS 1.1.5 is released. **** PLEASE READ "UPGRADE-FROM-1.1.4.txt" (INCLUDED IN THE TARBALL) **** Sorry for yelling, but I think that's important: *** The WAA format has changed a bit. *** - You can now safely remove your FSVS spool directory ($FSVS_WAA, "/var/spool/fsvs") to free a bit of space if needed. - The important settings, like URLs and ignore patterns, can now be versioned like any other file too. The second point is the most important here. (Once upon a time I had planned to fold the ignore patterns into "svn:ignore" properties - but they just don't match the syntax. So I took that simpler way. (Note: you can still override both defaults, using the environment variables $FSVS_WAA and $FSVS_CONF.) What other changes have been done since 1.1.4? - Diff now knows "-v" for additional meta-data diff. - Some cleanups and small bugfixes. - A changed ctime is no longer seen as meta-data change - it's only an indicator for *possible* changes. - For new, added and unversioned entries no other flags than those are printed on "fsvs status" - they're kind of irrelevant, as they're implied. (So you won't see "mtime changed" on a new entry). - New parameter -f for filtering entries. See http://fsvs.tigris.org/source/browse/*checkout*/fsvs/tags/fsvs-1.1.5/www/doxygen/html/group__cmds.html#glob_opt_filter - If no path arguments are given, the current directory is taken as the implicit parameter. And a more important change: - Option for path display settings. You can now choose how you want the paths printed; see http://fsvs.tigris.org/source/browse/*checkout*/fsvs/tags/fsvs-1.1.5/www/doxygen/html/group__options.html#o_opt_path for details. Downloads are available from http://freshmeat.net/projects/fsvs; support on users@ (or, for code-internal things, dev@) fsvs.tigris.org. (If freshmeat is *still* not up-to-date when you read this, there's http://fsvs.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=8182, too - although I prefer to see the number of downloads on freshmeat :-) For the next version I plan to do some kind of configuration file support - so that settings like for path display can be set persistent. Feedback is appreciated. Regards, Phil -- Versioning your /etc, /home or even your whole installation?
