[[ sorry if you got another, similar mail - that escaped early. ]]
Hello everybody, I'd like to announce FSVS 1.1.11. The short changelist since 1.1.10: - http: and https: URLs got compatibility fixes and updates for authentication handling. - Internal rewrites, documentation and code fixes/updates. - Properties can now be removed - prop-del. - New option debug_output, for writing or piping debug output somewhere. Furthermore valgrind can now be run for entire tests, and on bad writes/read/frees or similar causes the tests to stop. (Please note that the suppression patterns have to be done afresh for libc6-2.7 - the committed version is for 2.6). While this is very nice for quality assurance I have to find someone to give me a quad- or 8-core machine; on my current machine a single test run takes a bit more than 4 minutes, the extended tests (with 36 different configurations of FSVS and the environment) take about 2.5 hours, and valgrind would make that slower by a factor of 20 or so ... which is a bit awkward for testing small fixes. In the direction of copyfrom support there is a first attempt at finding duplicate files (copyfrom-detect); FSVS doesn't do anything with that information yet, this is just for testing yet. The currently implemented heuristics are: - identical files by MD5 - renamed files by device:inode number pair Other strategies will follow. Although single files are successfully reported as copied to the repository I'd suggest *not* using the copy-command yet; it has a few rough edges, and has to be partly rewritten. Downloads are available from http://freshmeat.net/projects/fsvs/. Please enjoy this release, and do not be too disappointed about the missing features; you'll get them at some time :-) Ideas, bug reports, patches, and all other feedback is welcome as always.
