Dear Apache Geode Developer Community,

While working on the 1.15.2 release, it became increasingly clear that our
website could benefit from a refresh. The current design has served us well,
but there’s room to improve how we present Apache Geode to the world.

To that end, we’re launching a website modernization initiative, and we’re
inviting volunteers to help shape this effort.

This project will focus on refreshing the color scheme, layout, and overall
user experience, while ensuring accessibility, responsiveness, and alignment
with modern open-source standards.

A Jira ticket has been created to track the project:
GEODE-10468 https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GEODE-10468

Areas where help is needed:

  *
UI/UX design and layout restructuring
  *
Front-end development (HTML/CSS/JS)
  *
Accessibility and performance improvements
  *
Content organization and presentation
  *
Feedback and testing across devices

Whether you're a designer, developer, accessibility advocate, or just
passionate about making Apache Geode more welcoming to new users, your input
will be invaluable.

If you're interested in volunteering or have ideas you'd like to share, please
reply to this thread or reach out to me directly.

Let’s work together to make the Apache Geode website as dynamic and robust as
the project itself.

Best regards,

Jinwoo Hwang (he/him/his)
