Let’s review the release creation process:

1) git clean -fed

2) gradle clean build

3) Copy the source distribution files to 
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/incubator/geode/1.0.0-incubating.M1.RC0/ 
and commit.

Is this correct?  Anything missing?

More Questions:

Where do we stage maven artifacts?  On 
https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/snapshots?

I know we only vote on source releases but where do we keep binary convenience 
distributions?  Are these generated once the release vote passes?

At what point is the release tag created?
