When i see this error it's usually because I'm running the deployer on
a machine that's got an instance of Geronimo already running.  The
"distribute" command is designed to run offline so it gets confused if
Geronimo is running on the same box.

Not necessarily. The error is always printed out whenever any deployment 
errors show up, be it a running server or any plan errors or anything.
