I just got a call from Patrick this morning telling me about it. I had
no idea this was in the works.
 

Another good reason to get the new ORB running quickly in order to 
support 1.5 SDKs soon and then look at JEE 5.0 (EJB 3, JAX-WS, etc). 
Obviously, other projects are already working on it.
