I incorporated your feedback Guillaume. Thanks again. I created a method variable that defaults to the endpoint.getLocationURI(). This variable's value is overridden if the property is present. All the tests for HttpProviderTest passed.
I attached ProviderProcessor as a patch again with the latest changes.
