Lachezar Dobrev commented on GERONIMODEVTOOLS-125:
--------------------------------------------------

The problem exists in all types of installation of the tool.
I personally prefer adding the update site to the Update Manager, and then
search for new features.
However all three methods of installation:
1. Unpacking the ZIP.
2. Using "Don't see your server.."
3. Using update manager to install new feature.

All three fail.

Trying to un-install the feature leads to:

Unable to complete action for feature "org.apache.geronimo.feature" due to
errors.
Error retrieving the plug-in entry: "org.apache.geronimo.runtime.v1_1.1.0".
[The file
"/C:/Development/Eclipse_3.2/EXT/eclipse/plugins/org.apache.geronimo.runtime.v1_1.1.0.jar"
 does not exist.]
Error retrieving the plug-in entry: "org.apache.geronimo.runtime.v1_1.1.0".
[The file
"/C:/Development/Eclipse_3.2/EXT/eclipse/plugins/org.apache.geronimo.runtime.v1_1.1.0.jar"
 does not exist.]

This plugin is expanded into a directory. However to my greatest surprise the
available plugin was version 1.0.0!!!
All three *runtime plugins supplied with the zip are 1.0.0 version, while the
feature requires 1.1.0 version.
Another problem is that the plugin .jar-s do not contain plugin.xml, and the
MANIFEST.MF of those contains Bundle Version 1.0.0.

I am sorry, but i believe this is a problem of bad packaging.
