David Jencks commented on GERONIMO-4647:
----------------------------------------

Are you using geronimo jetty or geronimo tomcat (or both) ?

GERONIMO-4566 reports a similar problem in jetty. I did not experience the
same problem with tomcat.

> When you specify welcome files in web.xml Geronimo throws 404 errors if the
> welcome file isn't a valid file resource.
> Values that are URL mappings to a servlet are ignored by the app server even
> through they are valid.
> This means that I can't have a welcome file of "/index.jsf" or "/index.do" or
> "/someservlet".
> The only welcome files that Geronimo seems to not throw a 404 Not Found error
> are actual files found in the web application.
