[~ikabiljo] has a nice abstraction for supporting stores (message, partition,
edge, etc.) with primitive vetex ids in very succinct way.
once he publishes it here for message stores, we can use similar ideas for
partition & edge stores to make the code look cleaner and reduce duplication.
