I've started looking at a port to Avro 1.7 - I've done some initial hacking and
it will definitely be a patch that touches a lot of things.
There's a bunch of cool abstractions in 1.7 that will let us do this a little
more easily, like the pluggable velocity templates. I'd be happy to take this
on as the assignee if you want.
