   > Note that I did use the opportunity to try to go through and review
everything and correct errors. If you feel that is out-of-scope for this effort
and want to focus solely on a literal move of the existing manual to the new
format, then feel free to ignore all of those comments and let me know.

I think that's absolutely fine. I found myself doing the same as I went
through this, correcting wording that was out-of-date or incorrect when I came
across it. For example, I ended up removing the FAQ as it's been entirely
supplanted by the FAQ on the website and very little of it was still relevant.
I also ended up making major changes to the structure of the JDBC auth and
configuration docs, as correcting the automated translation from DocBook to RST
was too complex otherwise, and doing so had the side effect of improving
readability.

   > One other question - did we decide to do away with the PDF version of the
manual? I can't remember where that discussion landed, and I can probably find
it on the JIRA issue, but I notice it seems to be completely gone from here.

I think the question was raised at some point, but without a decision or
discussion one way or the other.

I'll restore it. It should be easily possible to do this here by leveraging
Sphinx' support for producing LaTeX output.
