Thomas Jungblut commented on HAMA-704:
--------------------------------------

What you describe sounds like a memory leak. However it is difficult to tell if
that is merely a coincidence and the messages suck up all the memory or if
there is a memory leak in the vertex.

So the safest bet would be to turn on a dummy message manager that discards all
messages and constantly sends a small amount of messages to random vertices. If
you then see a memory increase (with a profiler, not with top) while
computation there is a leak.

> <vertex, message> map seems consume a lot of memory. We should figure out an
> efficient way to reduce memory.
