I tried to set XX:MaxDirectMemorySize According to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3773775/default-for-xxmaxdirectmemorysize, the default is 64 MB. But even if I set XX:MaxDirectMemorySize=64m, I got the following on MacBook: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine.
