This release includes about a half dozen bug fixes done in the month since 1.2.7. This release candidate contains the following incompatible changes, details in the release notes for the specific issue: * HBASE-21158 Empty qualifier cell should not be returned if it does not match QualifierFilter The detailed source and binary compatibility report vs 1.2.7 has been published for your review, at: https://s.apache.org/hbase-1.2.8-rc0-compat-report The report shows no incompatibilities.
