Rahul Sharma commented on HDT-39:
---------------------------------
I agree it is quite an effort to get the required settings in correct. After
spending quite a effort on this IMHO maven and eclipse are two separate worlds
which are difficult to converge. Thus I have reverted my patch for eclipse
specific settings. I believe we should keep classpath, project and settings in
repo and not take the maven route, I have updated the patch for the same. At
the same time we should also not pack required libs in our repo and take the
maven based route to get them
As for publishing bundles for hadoop and other libs, I think we should publish
these bundles as our artifacts. This is what other osgi based projects eg
servicemix [1] follow.
I think relying on maven is required for the purpose of build. If we can make a
build using maven then we can use ci environment to compile and pack things.
