While upgrading helix from 0.6.7 to 1.0.1 we noticed the use of slashes in the 
cluster name (e.g. *group/my-cluster*) breaks Helix initialization (below, the 
ExternalView showing no online instances):

removing the slashes from the cluster name solves the problem.
