Riemann has a single-server architecture. Aphyr has blogged about metrics he's
run, and a while back got 200k events/sec on his systems while claiming
production could do a million. We need to run this on our own systems to see it
works for us.
The key point to consider here is that the controller on its own needs to do
work at high priority. The monitoring server should not impact that.
