where CCHAR is CHAR(32) and CVCHAR is VARCHAR(32)
select concat ( cchar, cchar ) from t returns a result set where the precision
of the projected column is 64
meanwhile the following becomes 2147483647.
select concat('1234567890' , cchar) from t
meanwhile the following returns 64
select concat(lower(cchar), cchar) from t
create table if not exists TCHAR ( RNUM int , CCHAR char(32 ) )
ROW FORMAT DELIMITED FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|' LINES TERMINATED BY '\n'
STORED AS TEXTFILE ;
create table if not exists TVCHAR ( RNUM int , CVCHAR varchar(32 ) )
ROW FORMAT DELIMITED FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|' LINES TERMINATED BY '\n'
STORED AS TEXTFILE ;
