This should in principle work as long as the partition is properly bucketed and
uses ORC. Non-acid to acid conversion (in compaction) should just handle it.
ORC Schema evolution should handle any missing columns (and ignore extra ones)
wrt table schema.
I doubt there are any checks in place to check compatibility.
