Hi Pengcheng, There is a request from the HDFS team to revert the patch committed on HIVE-16047 from our code because it might cause problems when future Hadoop versions are released due to being a private API on Hadoop. This API method signature has been changed between releases, and we don't want to have additional shims to support future Hadoop versions just for this method.
I'd like to revert it from 2.3.0 release before doing the release. It is marked as being fixed on 2.2 but it is not cherry-picked on branch-2.2 but branch-2.3.
