The ability to explicitly lock a Hive table:
* Is not officially
[documented|https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/Hive/Locking]
* It's buggy [HIVE-10984]
* Not implemented everywhere [HIVE-12285]
Please consider dropping this feature from Hive 3.0. If applications need
synchronization, allow them to do it externally, directly through something
like ZooKeeper.
