Hive converts time zone data to UTC when writing and back to local time zone 
while reading. For Avro, there are file metadata and properties like 
{{hive.avro.timestamp.skip.conversion}} which can control this conversion, but 
right now they don't work for an Hbase table (or anything that relies on 
AvroLazyObjectInspector).
