Hi Jim,

We are actively working on the Hive 3.2.0 release. We have incorporated a
number of features as well as addressed a lot of CVE's. We will send out a mail
as soon as we are done with the changes about this release.

This effort has been going on from the start of this year and all the tickets
can be tracked here - https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-26748

Thanks,
Aman.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Hive 3.x release with updated PostgreSQL support

Hi all,
There was a PR earlier this year to update the PostgreSQL version used by
Hive.

https://nam06.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fapache%2Fhive%2Fpull%2F4195&data=05%7C01%7Crajaman%40microsoft.com%7Caaa1d4c5730d4c31f25508dbb5c007bf%7C72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7C1%7C0%7C638303608645769661%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=7PS8YpdWLJjkwAri6OWt4zN1i1SLoKrlCxsAOPn3SBY%3D&reserved=0<https://github.com/apache/hive/pull/4195>

This PR was merged into branch-3, but there have been no subsequent
releases of Hive 3.x. Will there be another release of 3.x that
incorporates this change? I'd very much like to see this since it addresses
a number of CVEs as well as addressing security issues such as the support
for scram-sha-256 hashes.

Kind regards,
Jim
