Dear Hive Developers, My name is *Surafel Temesgen*, and I’m excited to share a project I’ve been developing called *Debo*—a lightweight, unified infrastructure management tool that supports monitoring and basic control over Hadoop ecosystem components, including *Apache Hive*. ------------------------------ 💡 What is Debo?
*Debo* is a desktop-based open-source application (written in C) designed to simplify infrastructure management in complex Hadoop-based environments. It provides an interface for visualizing status, executing basic operations, and managing configurations across a wide set of services including: - *HDFS, YARN, HBase, Kafka* - *Hive* (including Hive Metastore) - *Flink, Spark, Tez, Zookeeper* - And others: Atlas, Ranger, Pig, Phoenix, Presto, Hue, Oozie, etc. The intention is to provide a *single, unified control plane* for cluster-wide visibility and interaction. ------------------------------ 🧪 Incubation & Community Input Needed Debo has been proposed to the Apache Incubator and is currently seeking *3 PMC sponsors* to proceed.
