The Project Management Committee (PMC) for Apache Hive is delighted to announce that Shohei Okumiya has joined the PMC! Okumin has been a committer since November 2024 and has remained consistently active since then. He has made numerous contributions to the project and reviewed a substantial number of patches. Beyond his technical work, he actively promotes Hive on LinkedIn and has published insightful Medium articles on Iceberg.
This is in recognition of his ongoing contributions to the project. The PMC - Project Management Committee - manages and guides the direction of the project, and is responsible for inviting new committers and PMC members to steward the longevity of the project. See https://community.apache.org/pmc/responsibilities.html if you're interested in learning more about the rights and responsibilities of PMC members. Please join us in welcoming Okumin to their new role in our project! Denys Kuzmenko On behalf of the Apache Hive PMC
