Non-committer +1 (well, HCatalog committer).
Looking at HCatalog we see one thrift file:

AFAICT HCatalog codegen is done manually and checked-in, rather than being
incorporated into the build. Bonus points if we integrate into the build, but
this change looks good if we want to pass on integrating for now.
