I think the replacement in doc would be good, though the subsequent text also needs to be replaced. Specifically, the hive dist directory will be at a different place. You need -Pdist in above first maven command to generate the distribution directory. The current distribution directory is located at packaging/target/apache-hive-0.13.0-SNAPSHOT-bin/apache-hive-0.13.0-SNAPSHOT-bin/, which corresponds to previous build/dist/. On the other hand, hive build should be able to create a softlink to make the old behavior work.
