[~jaideepdhok] Thanks for bringing this up. Certainly a useful functionality.
The proposed directory layout (1-3) sounds reasonable.
You might want to take a look at HIVE-4629. There's patch attached which keeps
a copy of the current session's log in a mem buffer and allows that to be
retrieved by the client. Most of that implementation would be useful for this
work.
These two patches combined, will enable clients to retrieve the query specific
logs which would be highly useful for troubleshooting.
