Add case sensitivity support to Parquet Serde. This is a small modification to ParquetHiveSerde to accommodate case sensitive fields through a serde property. An example use case in hive: CREATE EXTERNAL TABLE IF NOT EXISTS T(fieldName1 string, fieldname2 int, fieldNAME3 string) ROW FORMAT SERDE 'org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.io.parquet.serde.SensitiveParquetHiveSerDe' WITH SERDEPROPERTIES ("casesensitive"="fieldName1,fieldname2,fieldNAME3) STORED AS INPUTFORMAT 'parquet.hive.DeprecatedParquetInputFormat' OUTPUTFORMAT 'parquet.hive.DeprecatedParquetOutputFormat' LOCATION '...'; You can merge this pull request into a Git repository by running: $ git pull https://github.com/kozanitis/hive ParquetCaseSensitive Alternatively you can review and apply these changes as the patch at: https://github.com/apache/hive/pull/19.patch To close this pull request, make a commit to your master/trunk branch with (at least) the following in the commit message: This closes #19 ---- commit 3596f49fc40d141a554305ea052ba8be5f2488ac Author: Kozanitis <kozani...@berkeley.edu> Date: 2014-07-15T01:44:46Z Add case sensitivity support to Parquet Serde. ---- --- If your project is set up for it, you can reply to this email and have your reply appear on GitHub as well.
