Apologies, I hadn't noticed that the patch includes hive-default.xml.template
which explains the time units for the new parameters very well.
But those parameter descriptions belong in HiveConf.java, and
hive-default.xml.template should not be patched anymore (see HIVE-6037). I
opened a new issue on the review board.
