@Dave, there has been no formal request as it would have had to come through here. It's not included in what we push to maven central, we can track downloads somewhat... Over the past months, the question has popped up on chat a couple of times. Except for "build the code" we do not really have a way to download the war.
I feel that "build the code" is not a valid user-friendly answer.
