I only just subscribed to this mailing list yesterday and this is the first thread I've seen on this :(
Given that Accumulo continues to use HTrace (and I'm not sure, but I think much of its code originated in Accumulo as "cloudtrace"/"accumulo-trace"), it's a shame that this project did not graduate as a subproject of Accumulo or something, if nothing else.
