As an old Apache 1.3 suexec hacker I might be willing to help, but the code looks a bit nasty!....
Well, if you can do the work, a lot of people will thank you. But none of them quite enough to have done or sponsored it!
Do look at the Metux MPM, if you haven't already.
Is the perchild mpm that good ??
