FWIW, there isn't much 'manually rolled' about it: http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/httpd/httpd/dist/tools/release.sh I've seen some projects where you really do run a manual operation to generate the release artifacts, but thats just not how we roll 'round here. -Paul
