All the notes are in the dev@ list archives this past quarter. People weren't terribly good about keeping the subject lines consistent, though. I'm sure Jim, Steffen or someone would be happy to assemble you the pointers to all the relevant threads. In short mod_ssl expects a blocking socket connection to the client, an apr_sock_t object in APR-speak. If I had time to find you all the scattered threads, I really would find time to debug this myself :)
