I also have a patch for spring-ibatis against the Spring 2.5.6p1 code that
enables passing in both a custom EntityResolver and enabling/disabling XML
validation.
If this patch is accepted and a new release is pushed out, I will submit the
spring-ibatis patch to Spring.
