The forthcoming 0.12 release will support vended credentials, which is great. However, it still lacks support for automatically refreshing the vended credentials. [1] There is an open PR that implements this for S3 [2] that, in my opinion, is extensible enough to also support GCS in a follow-up.
If that PR is supported, I'll volunteer to follow-up with support for GCS. If anyone has concerns with the approach in the PR, I'd love to discuss it over there as well.
