Upstream development on Impala 4 just switched to use the CDP versions of Hadoop components by default (in commit 8749d587), rather than the old CDH versions. Since this change impacts the values for environment variables and many other things, the best practice is to exit any current shells and use fresh shells for continued development. For developers that have not used the CDP configuration before (USE_CDP_HIVE=true), this change will require reloading test data.
Over time, the configuration using CDH components will be removed, as discussed in the Impala 4 planning. Thanks, Joe
