Kudu crashing isn't even the worry -- fsync only has relevance in the case of 
_machine_ crashes. If a process crashes, the file system will still writeback 
any dirty pages it left behind. So, assuming you don't care about your test 
instances being powered off unexpectedly and wanting to reboot and not lose any 
test data... ;-)
