Hi there, I have spoken to Louis, and he referred me to you here.
Like many countless people around the world, OpenOffice.org is my office suite of choice, and I have followed it since version 1.1.0, from Windows to, now, Linux. After looking at the beta, I believe version 2.0 is going to blow the world away and I can't wait to use it. If I had programming skills, I would have loved to contribute patches and improvements but unfortunately, the best I can do is advocate it. Anyway, I have a favour to ask of you. Is it OK for you to release OpenOffice.org for Linux in the autopackage format instead of the usual RPMs or .bin/.run scripts? This way, I can install the latest version on any distribution, without having to resort to alien or downloading 10 different RPMs and DEBs for 10 different distros. I am not technically savvy enough to create such an autopackage, and would appreciate it very, very much if somebody is kind enough to help me with it. Thanks in advance, and if you do need more info with autopackage, the website is at http://www.autopackage.org. The autopackage developers are online in ICQ/MSN most of the time, and I will gladly introduce them to you when the need arises. Thank you once again!!
